I grew up my entire life in the wonderful community of Springfield, TN. I am a 1991 graduate of Springfield High and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In 1996, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology followed in 1997 by a Master of Arts in Teaching, both from The University of Memphis.
I spent four years as a Biology and Environmental Science teacher at Craigmont High School, in Memphis and Springfield High School. I took time off from teaching to raise our 3 beautiful children (Jack, Kate, and Abby) while working part time at Drs. Reed and Wilkerson. This allowed me time to lead a Girl Scout Troop for nine years and participate in several ministries here at Springfield First United Methodist Church.
I have directed our children’s choir (a2J) for the last three years and enjoy teaching God’s word to the children through music. I find great joy from seeing children learn about God, grow in their faith, and share the love of Jesus with others. I am excited to be joining the staff here at SFUMC. I feel like God has been preparing me for children’s ministry and I am ready for this journey!
I enjoy singing in the choir, camping, fishing & traveling with my husband, Jason, and our children.
